Warden and I are not big on alcohol, be it wine, hard liquor or liquored coffee. But for some reason, there is a bunch of alcohol sitting in one of our storage units. Some of which I am not even sure are still consumable. For instance, we have 2 bottles of Hoegaarden sitting in the [...]

Wood Street is usually a quiet place as the clock moves closer to midnight. But not this night. There was an unexplainable electrifying feel in the air, never felt before this part of town. All of a sudden the air density dropped, as if the oxygen was being sucked out of Mother Earth. A strong [...]

5:15am on a Saturday morning, I dragged Warden from slumber and got our asses down to the Singapore Botanic Gardens. It was around 6:30am when we reached there, and day was about to break. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of people who were there, most of them for their morning exercises. Apart from [...]

The Night Festival promised a weekend of outdoor extravaganza of live music, dance and outdoor performances – at least that’s what the brochure and website said. Warden and I were there some time after 6pm, and joined [...]

I went out on a spending spree and finally got myself a much-needed tripod. Alan Photo did not give me any good advice on a choice of tripods, and the sales guy actually told me once to go back after doing more research on the Internet! I went to Cathay Photo at Peninsula Plaza, knowing [...]

Light is the most important element of photography. While the basics of lighting may be simple to some, mastering it is a different story.
After flipping through some back issues of my photography magazines, I was inspired to try some abstract shots in my “home studio”.

The setup is surprisingly easy. All I needed was a tripod, [...]

This 3-Dimensional Chinese Calligraphy art, named “Spring Coming”, by Chua Boon Kee, was on display at the Esplanade. Using intertwining grapevine branches, the artist transformed the 2-dimensional Chinese words, 春晓, into 3-dimensional sculptural form. The words simply signifies the arrival of spring – which is also what marks the Chinese New Year celebrations.
This visual art [...]
