Back on my first job, I used to have lunches at this Seow Choon Hua Restaurant, located at Sultan Gate which is near Beach Road. The stall selling the Fu Zhou Fishball noodles is the main attraction of this place. It is not actually a restaurant, so don’t go expecting excellent ambience or first-class service.

I remember the first week on the job, and some of my colleagues introduced me to this place. The typical Fu Zhou fishballs have meat stuffed inside them, and are thus sized larger than the normal fishballs or meatballs. You can choose to either have rice or noodles to go with the fishballs. Apart from the Fu Zhou fishballs, this stall sells red vinegar chicken. Don’t try this on a hot afternoon, or you will soon find yourself perspiring like you’re being cooked! Trust me, I had first-hand experience

After so many years, I have returned to try this dish again. Can’t say if I remember it to be exactly the same, but I finished the whole bowl for dinner.
