“I will pack, I will pack”, that has been my reply for the past few days (or maybe weeks?), to the constant reminder from my warden. Yeah another trip, this time to Korea on a one-week holiday. Hurrah… but it seemed like yesterday when I just unpacked from Jakarta…

So there I am, finally getting my growing butt to move and do some packing. What clothes to match what bottom, and which ones can be donated to the trash collection of Korea after the trip. Those were the general themes that have been burned into my brain. Personally, I just need to make sure I have enough clothes to not stink on the whole trip, look a little like I had a change of clothes when I take pictures of myself and the most important stuff is really my camera and the accessories with it. Add something to read perhaps (which I doubt I will do much) and I will be a happy man.

Life never seems to want to deal a good hand. When you think you have it, the next moment it all comes crashing down. My Dell desktop, which is really a disguise and really meant for the sole purpose of satiating my gaming addiction (err passion), suddenly refused to boot up. It dealt me a horrifying “blue screen of death”. After so many years, can you at least make it look prettier if you want to destroy my life, Microsoft?! I tried booting up using the Windows CD and Recovery Centre, LIKE WHAT MICROSOFT SAID, but to no avail. If anything, my efforts seemed to condemn my poor buddy of a couple of years, to certain death. And I had just bought a nice router for you to talk to. Will my Spore creations survive without daddy? I think I am going nuts…

Coupled with the PC problem, I decided to eat some leftover food instead of moving the Butt down to the Kopi-tiam for lunch. It was some Japanese “sushi”, which really wasn’t sushi, left in the fridge since… some time last week… Eww I know… it didn’t look pretty, and it sure did not taste pretty. Nothing close to the exquisite sushi served in the restaurants. I tried the microwave oven. It did not work its magic this time. Ok I finally fed it to the trash bin.

I’m still alive. No worries. I’ll try not to kill myself next time my desktop dies. Hmm… maybe just maybe, I can finally get a much-needed upgrade to the machine, and perhaps kill my bank account while I’m at it. :-P

Think about it … it is a jolly good opportunity to get your quad core with an inexpensive great graphic card. You can get a very decent machine for less than S$2,500 these days. Go go go!

Wilfrid, actually when I have the time, I will plug in the hard disks into my other desktop and see if the situation can be salvaged. Failing which I will need a new PC. Not sure I will go with quad core though lol.
