Some time ago, I was poking fun at Wilfrid for being a reality show junkie. He was really into it – checking out the Singapore Idol website, making predictions based on the comments posted by other viewers or fans, and writing his blog about the show in general. I remember he and his wife wrote comments about the wannabes during the show and he wrote that in his blog. Of course, I could not forget about his obsession with Gayle when he bumped into her at the local supermart or something. But his craze did not seem to extend to other reality shows like Project Catwalk, or 绝对SUPERSTAR! or 绝对 SUPERBAND! or the other shows like You Can Dance or the other rock contest (can’t remember the name).
Anyway, a couple of years back, I was a “Series junkie”, on Wednesday nights when I chain-watched CSI, followed by Charmed, followed by Dark Angel. Every week, I would be sitting in the living room, with my laptop in front of me, and I would be trying to multi-task between work, play and watching tv. It was any wonder I got anything done at all. And in those days, when I was supposedly working at home (I was self-employed and having a lull period), the afternoon tea breaks would be filled by shows like Judging Amy and New York Police Department (can’t remember if that was the correct name, but I’m not referring to NYPD Blue).
Recently, I have been caught up with Boston Legal – Season 2 (Sunday), House (Monday), Boston Legal – Season 1 (Wednesday AXN) and Ghost Whisperer (Friday). House is an excellent mystery series, package in a medical premise, by the way. Good times for this junkie

Well … at the time I was really into American Idol, I was into So You Think You Can Dance too. Believe it or not, I have not watched a single American Idol before the last one so it was a nice experience that led me to Singapore Idol. And for Singapore Idol, although the standard is not there but I can participate in voting (however minute that is). It is like part of the fun. Some soccor fans bet so that they can enjoy the matches more.
And for me, music is my life so naturally I am into singing contest like Singapore Idol (and hence not Project Catwalk or what is that show called … the tag line is “You Are Fired”). I like to see how musicians push their limits and keep improving each episode. In short, I can relate to them. But I also like that “Idol X-Factor”. Someone whom you hope to see through the competition.
As for Superband, I have not quite explored that. I guess my preference is more into 1 or 2 (for dancing competition) persons rather than the entire band. Too many factors to consider like … is the drummer good, is the guitarist good … etc.
As for TV series, I have always been watching them. For me, my preference is drama that is less in the background of crime and hospital and legal setting (Ally McBeal was great by the way). Anything else is good.
