Ok, I admit it! I’m too poor to pay for StarHub’s Pay-Per-View subscription for the World Cup. I am actually more unwilling to pay for the subscription knowing well that I will not be watching every match, especially the 3am ones. Some people do need to work for a living.
So, since the start of the World Cup, I have been looking high and low on the Internet for alternatives. In the end, my wife actually found this post on the forums – from Sengkang.com . I followed the links and downloaded TVUPlayer just minutes before the England versus Ecaudor match.
I selected a channel from the list of channels, and after a couple of minutes, I could hear the commentators of CCTV2(SPORTS) announcing the line-ups for the teams. Could not see anything though, but after a couple of minutes of downloading, I could finally see the match! No doubt, there is a slight delay in the telecast, but I no longer needed to watch replays. To offset the delay, I opened a browser and “watched” the Live Gamecast from Soccernet as well.
Hah! Perfect! It’s free too. England 1, Ecuador 0.
