I was supposed to meet up with a friend to discuss about a business venture that started a couple of months ago – some funky idea that struck me while I was in a cafe. I had a booking for some choice sofa seats at the back of a nice cafe that I have heard some positive feedback about. However, my totally unreliable friend failed to turn up, informing me only about 2 hours before the arranged time. I decidedly to go ahead and give the place a try anyway.
Upon entering the cafe, I was greeted by a well-spoken, good-looking, well-dressed man whom I suppose was the boss. I informed him that I had a reservation but no longer needed that seat since I was alone. He insisted that I could have the seat anyway, since it was not crowded at that time. Hmm… quite impressive, especially in a country where rudeness is the norm customers are greeted with. The service level further impressed me while my orders where being taken, and from observations when subsequent customers were served.
Service aside, there was soft Jazz playing in the background, just loud enough to be heard, yet soft enough not be to intrusive. The lighting was a little dim, but I did not have too much of a problem as I was scribbling down some notes. It was a nice cozy atmosphere, that anyone who enjoys lounging in cafes on a slow Sunday afternoon, should give it a try. Cheesecakes lovers should also give the house special a try. I found it rather unique compared to the usual American Cheesecake or Tiramisu cakes you get in places like Starbucks or Coffee Beans. I will definitely return for helpings of the Cheesecakes. Yummy :-)
